Security and privacy
You hold keys and codes to people's homes, and details about their families and dogs. Here's how Trusthound looks after them.
Trusthound encrypts access codes in its database, hosts data on Amazon Web Services in London, backs up nightly, keeps each business's data separate, logs sensitive actions, lets you export your data at any time, and never sells data or uses it for advertising.
Access codes are encrypted
Lockbox, door, alarm and gate codes and wifi details are encrypted before they're stored, so a copy of the database alone wouldn't reveal them. When a team member reveals a code in the app, that view is logged.
Hosted in London
Trusthound runs on Amazon Web Services in London (eu-west-2), including file storage and backups. Photos and documents are kept private and shared only through short-lived links.
Backups
The database is backed up every night to encrypted, versioned storage, and backups are kept for 90 days.
Each business kept separate
Every request is checked against the business it belongs to. One business can never see another's clients, dogs or records.
Roles and audit logs
Owner, manager and staff roles limit who can see and change what. Sensitive actions, such as exports, deletions, consent changes and money changes, are written to an audit log.
Your data, exportable
Export any client's data whenever you like, answer clients' requests to see or delete their information, and take your records with you if you leave.
AI with guard rails
AI features run on Amazon Bedrock, within AWS in Europe. Amazon doesn't use your content to train its models. AI only ever makes drafts: a person at your business checks every note and every vaccination date before it counts.
No selling, no advertising
We don't sell personal data, and we don't use it for advertising. Card details are handled by Stripe, Apple or Google, never stored by us.
